Story Arc

My first story is a short Singaporean film that has a lot of meaning and is a great life lesson.

Here is my story graph:
The component of this story's arc are the crisis when the father died, it was the shocking moment of the story, after it comes the climax part which is presented by the discovery of letters sent by the disabled children association, the hero knew that the taxes his father made him pay each month were only donations to an association. the last part of this story is the resolution part when the hero of the story took a decision  to adopt the lifestyle of his father( shown in the film as been the clown) . The general resolution of this film is that giving and sharing is more than keeping and showing off .
1.unhappy life / poor stage
2.pay taxes
3.got a scholarship to start university
4. Busy by his job
5.what he's father was doing all this years
6.he decided to pursuit what his father has been doing.


The second film I decided to talk about it is a romantic short film also entitled struck 
The component of this story's arc are the crisis when the hero was shot by an arrow, it was the shocking moment of the story, after it comes the climax part which is presented by the news that he have to live with the arrow for the rest of his life. People started laughing at him as well as not accepting him within them for example in the work or he started to scared people around him even when he decided to meet women in order to get out of his depression. The resolution part of this short movie is that everything happen for a reason .

Message is the medium


 This first image is representing the Mc'luhan theory which talk about the message and the way its represented. I choosed for  the first image to be a screen-grab from Youtube on a tutorial that shows how to tie a bow. The sender is the channel Leaf with a collaboration with Brad Goreski , the medium is Youtube or Internet and the receivers are everyone who watch the video. This medium give us a message that this video is made for classy men , that we don't know how to tie a bow properly, this is how you will be stylish .  








 This second picture is using magazine as a medium to express femininity and fashionable women, describing how a woman should look like and how should her behave... the sender are the editors and contributers on Vogue magazine and the receivers are woman around the world .








this last image was taken by me, my friend is a medium in this case expressing her love for fashion and clothing especially high end clothing since she is wearing a burberry scarf and a Christian Dior clutch . This picture expresses a lot of messages at the same time maybe my friend is rich , she is a young classy woman ...

Gestalt theory






 This post is dedacted to talk about the Gestalt theory we did in our visual communication class. I choosed to focus more on the continuation law, so basically the pictures I post are expressing the continuation process that our mind created . My friend Hala was walking the other day and I took her process of walking on pictures, the first five pictures convinced us that Hala or my friend is jumping to the other side and will continue walking. However, we are not sure if this imagined continuation will end as we thought of after seeing the first three pictures. this is my interpretation of the continuation law of Gestalt theory.

Have you ever thought of what a girl use to get ready for a night out ? I walked to my bathroom on Saturday night while I was preparing to go out for dinner to shoot five product I used in order to identify their logos for a assignement. I used Urban Decay the Naked 2 palette as eyeshadow for my eyes, I love the packaging i find it very elegant. It recalls the nude colors inside it.
The second logo is The Bath and Body works body butter, the colors used for this product are brown, caramel and champagne. I used this product because it smells really amazing as well as it does moisturize my body . Next, it's my face moisturizer by Mila D'opiz. They used orange to bring fun and ambition about the product since its revitalizing the skin and nourishing it.
About the hairspray form L'oréal Paris, the colors used are black and champagne , both colors represent elegance and sexiness. The last product is a whitening toothpaste, the colors used in the logo and the packaging are blue, orange , white and red that's to express or identify the product throughout it , like attention, exactingness, trust and loyalty, fun and cleanliness.
Most of the colors and designs were not choosing randomly but report a meaning to the product they are selling .

Hello Helloo !






   Hey my name is Bouteina Hakim, I created this blog for a visual communication class,
i'm from rabat the capital of morocco yeaah :) I love to sing and play music, as well as playing soccer and hanging out with my friends (but i guess this in not a hobbie) :)
What I want to fulfill by taking this class is to know how to analyze more the visual messages and know how to express myself and communicate well visually and of course to do fun stuff while learning . I probably let it be a brief introduction rather than writing a bunch of paragraphs talking about myself ( I am boring actually , the pictre is fooling you ) .
